How do I change chat window colors in windows live messenger?

I just updated windows live messenger and its pretty... but the white background is really boring and i want to change it...its also kinda blinding so how do i change the color.
i have changed the colors using the paint feature but the color only applies to the top of windows.... not the whole window... how do change the color of the whole window?...
