how do i bypass the gmail setup on a new tmobile g1?

ok i bought a new t mobile g1 last night and setup a data package for it and everything.ok that being said i bought another one today and i dont want to add another data package is there any way to bypass the gmail setup using the data package sim card?i was told there were ways to do it.....any hints tips clues please let me know otherwise i have a brand new g1 for sale.lol
