I bored the cylinders out .060 over.. new crank, cam, pistons.. etc.. I also cleared it for a 400 crank... (making it a 388 stroker motor) So I was just looking for some insite and tips on how i should break this bad boy in properly, so it'll last.. thanks..
okay.. but as far as starting the car for the first time.. i have heard that you need to keep the rpm's around 1500 so the lobes on the cam will wear down.. and the rings on the pistons will seat.. so if I start it can I let it idle while setting the timing..? then do I slowly move it up to 1500 rpms?

get an oil change with oil that is right for your car... Also, dont crank on it right away. i would say put about 50 miles on it and then bring it up slowley. If you really wanna make that thing go, get a new headers, exaust piping, and a K & N air filter. Its the small stuff that makes it go

all you can do is drive it real easy for the first 500 miles, don't let it over rev and don't haul a**, also after that 500 miles change the oil again and check the oil for anything like metal, after that it will be fine
