It's not really summer camp. It's a college preview, where I go and take on a government job. The thing is, I have to be elected, and I will know nobody there. I'm very, VERY shy. How can I fix this by sunday?

Pretend you are someone else.

You won't know anyone else there, right? It'll be a perfect time to assume a new identity that is outgoing.

Oh my gosh. The quick fixer pick me upper watch my zipper. LOL. As a child in the Caribbean, I dreaded going to my dad's home in a cold region of Jamaica (the hills of Clarendon) where people bath by going to a nearby stream. The water was cold beyond comprehension (LOL, yes). I would stay at the bank and try to splash water until i was wet then proceed to "soap up." Then it dawned on me, why not just plunge in, and that is what i started to do. Turns out my body temperature adjusted far quicker.
You want my advice? Guess what I am about to tell you to do? Yes, you got it: TAKE THE PLUNGE. Go to summer camp and walk in like there is no tomorrow, and knock 'em dead. Hidden just below the shyness is an emotion that drives us to succeed, I dare you to uncover it. Have fun.
Oh, I still take the plunge whenever i go into any situation that activates my shyness or fear or freezing (pun intended).
