I'm confused.

I am kind of obsessed with history and think about it all the time. I bother my friends all the time by talking about it constantly and relate current events to those of the past.
I'm aware of the current economic situation especially as it relates to educational funding.
However, I think I would rather kill myself than work in a cubicle for the rest of my life.
I know the first few steps.
1.) Go to college. Do very well.
2.) Go to grad school. Do very well there, too.
But, do I need a Master's or Ph.D? How do I make "contacts" while I am graduate student? How do I "market" myself to universities and community colleges all over the country?
I think I would an excellent teacher because I am patient and passionate about history!
Help me out! Please!
