How do i become a news reporter?

I am a community college student and am taking an low English and reading in order for me to place in English 101 college level writing this semester. I am also taking US History and US Geography. Besides these courses what should i consider in order to become a news reporter down the road.

PS: I know i need journalism, communication and political science. What else should i consider.
