I was laid off about 6 months ago. Our mortgage company (Chase) put us in a forbearance plan for 4 months...after that was over, they lowered our payment by a whopping $90 which obviously didn't help much. I have done everything I can think of to find a job and there just aren't any available except part-time retail which would bring in less money than my unemployment. We've rented out one of our spare rooms and we're STILL behind on all of our bills. I thought about filing bankruptcy, but I'm afraid we'd lose our house and our car...I just don't know what to do. Any advice would be most appreciated.
