How do i attach pegs on my BMX bike?

loonngg time ago, i took off the pegs on my bmx bike, but now i wanna put them back on. so i took my pegs and tried to screw them on, but the threads dont fit. is there a piece that i have to attach to the bike's threads before i screw-on my pegs? thanks
 
the pegs i had weren't screw-on

i had to unscrew the nuts on both sides of each wheel, slide the peg on & tighten it up. you may want to bring it to a bike store though if you don't have any experience doing this because you could over tighten the nut & the wheel won't spin or the chain could end up too loose or too tight or the wheel could end up crooked...
 
ok well some pegs have threads on them so you can just screw them right onto the axle. but for the most part you are gonna take off your bolts on that wheel, slide the pegs on the axle, then put the bolts back on. use a socket wrench with either a 17mm or 3/4'' head and use an extender on the socket so that you can reach the axle through the peg.
and for future reference, try not to call them stunt pegs, they're just pegs.

also on the back wheel make sure to pull the wheel back so the chain isn't loose.
