How do I ask this girl I've never spoken to to a dance?

I am the tutor in her class and I am completely sure she knows who I am, the problem is that I have never talked to her. The dance is in two weeks and she is the type of girl who if you don't act quickly Somebody else will ask her first. So how should I go about asking her so that she says yes? Btw she is a really sweet person.
