Raised by my aunt whom I've called mom since I could talk. However, we never really got along. I was told by other family & friends that she resented how much time her husband spent with me when I was a baby than with his own kids. Not my fault, but it is what it is.

Anyway, when my dad (uncle) passed away 10 yrs ago I moved in with her to help her emotionally & financially, but she took advantage of me. We had a huge blow out and haven't spoken since. We have had absolutely ZERO contact since 2000. We even live in different states than we both use to.

Due to the way she's always treated me when I was a kid and into my early teen years and after that blow out, I really do not like this woman at all.

My problem is she has all the pictures of me when I was a baby and as a little kid. I don't have ANY pictures of me before the age of 24, I'm 35 now. I would like some of these pictures, but really don't know how to ask her since we both can't stand each other. I am willing to pay for her to make copies since a lot of the pictures include her two kids as well.

How do I go about approaching her and asking for the photos or copies? I found her on Facebook, but the thought of trying to be nice to her to get something I want just makes my skin crawl. She literally has put me through hell most of my life, but I really would like some pictures of me from when I was a baby.

Thoughts, suggestions, comments...

Thanks!

I don't think that you need to kiss up to this woman to get the pictures that you want. You simply have to be cordial with her. Either email her or call her up and tell her that you would like to have pictures of yourself from your childhood. Tell her that you would make copies and then return the pictures to her, so that she doesn't think that you are just going to take them. That's all that you can do.
You don't have to patch up your relationship to get your pictures. Just get the pictures and get out.
