I have a 1952 prefect which has just failed its MOT test as the inside of the tyre rubs against the shock absorber when the steering is on full lock. this is the only thing the car failed on. i have looked all over the steering mechanism and i cannot see any way to adjust this appart from extending the track rod ends which will put the tracking out.
Does anyone know how i can rectefy this?

HI
WOW I didn't think a 1952 would have to have any kind of test.. you might see if there is a stop block bolt on the lower A frame to stop the wheel from turing so far. a lot of the old cars had those other than that you might have to take it to an alignment shop (one with older guys in it that know what they are doing on an older car).
good luck
