How do I activate my BlackBerry Curve 8530's voice mail (I have Verizon)?

OK, so I joined Verizon sometime in the end of July 2010; I got the BlackBerry Curve 8530 that day. And, this is really stupid but I haven't activated my voice mails yet, so I don't know how to check them or anything. I only know I currently have 7 voice mails (It's the icon in the middle thats next to "Mobile" and looks like upside down glasses) ----->

SO....just please tell me....
- How to activate my voice mails
- How to check them
- Do I need a password or something?? (one of my friends asked me about some password and I freaked out at the thought of password..)
- Anything else I should know?
