Ideally the Vodafone software on the USB stick should automatically download all requisite settings onto the Mac. If you encounter any issue connecting, try the following settings. This was recommended by the tech support of Vodafone (India).
1. Click on connections tab.
2. Then click on mobile connections tab.
3. Click on '+' sign to set up a new connection.
4. Go to Access point name (APN) tab and type in 'www' where APN is required.
6. Leave every other information blank.
7. Close & restart the application.
8. Remove the USB data card and re-insert.
9. The connection should now be set-up.
