How do I access the contents of my micro SD card on my Samsung seek?

When I add mp3 files (songs) to the card on the computer, they show up in the folder. When I put the card in my phone, it says "Memory card inserted". Then when I go to "Music" the songs aren't there. How do I get to the songs that are on my card on my phone? Or where would they be? Please help.
