How do I access Iphone phone numbers that I backed up on my PC?

I just upgraded the OS on my Iphone to 3.1.2 but after it was done I lost all my contacts, but before upgrading it I noticed that Itunes actually backed up all my information now I do not know how to access those numbers or how to get them back can anyone help?
