How do female experiences differ from male experiences as we girls grow into womanhood?

In my psychology and sociology classes in college we've been discussing how both genders, male and female, live in this great world. That is, me and my entire class read an essay in my textbook called "The Culture of Violence" by Myriam Miedzian. And it talks about male experiences, about how boys grow into manhood, which states how they are influenced by violence in the media and are raised to be violent, irresponsible fathers, and about why most crimes and felonies are mostly perpetrated by the male population. Which is a way on how men are objectified by the media. On the other hand, how do our experiences as women differ from the ones men have as we grow into womanhood? Is it about how we girls face body image issues and try to be passive and submissive? Need good answers for my essay please.
