How do creationists argue against facts that discredit Creation?

The debate against evolution goes ever on....but that's not my issue here.

If Creationists think the Earth is roughly 4-6,000 years old, how do they reconcile the idea that Stars are millions of light years away, with a light year being the amount of time light travels in one calender year, traveling at 186,000 miles per SECOND.
If stars are so far away, how can the universe only be 6000 years old?

Or geology? When we know that certain rock formations occur, and certain sediments and type of rock (igneous, sediment, metamorphic) take tens of thousands of years to form with pressure, shifting, and other variables...how can the Earth be only 6000 years old?
