How do camp counselors punish kids who misbehave?

We are considering sending our boy to summer camp for a week next year but we are wondering how strict they usually are and what the consequences are for breaking the rules.

10 year old boys are a bit rambunctious sometimes so we don't want to send him to a camp that sends the kids home after one offense.

Every camp is different, and disciplinary procedures vary from one camp to the next.

At, my camp, verbal warnings are given first, followed by the child being sent to the director's office and separation from group activities or loss of privileges for a period of time, finally, the parents are contacted to pick up the child only if misbehavior continues to a point at which the problem cannot be resolved, and the child repeatedly refuses to follow camp rules and correct their behavior.

Choose your camp wisely. Avoid camps that are staffed by 15-16 year-olds. Choose a quality camp staffed with college-aged or older counselors who clearly have an intrest in working with your child than just earning summer money.
