Which would apparently mean i would have to learn HTML. All info help and advice appreciated.
Does anyone know how much Dream Weaver costs?
OUCH! Morgan that hurt! I thought it would be about $400 maybe less. Didn't think it would be £400. Oh well more saving and more time to prepare. lol

Well, anyone can learn anything. It's not that hard, really.

You just have to find the right ways to learn. There are millions of sites on google that can help you with this.

I learned hands on, from friends, various sites and by just looking at different peoples coding. I think the best way that I learned was looking at other coding, and just messing around with it on like a test site such as freewebs.

Although, if you do this you have to remember not to copy their coding, or steal it. You should try and make it your own.

If you're not the hands on kind of person, I suggest the best way to learn HTML is probably to take lessons and find a site that will teach you the basics, then go into the harder stuff.

Well it depends on which aspect of website development you looking at getting into , website creation is split into two fields:

Frontend Website Design.
( Which basically means designing how the website looks.)

and

Backend Website Development.
( Which deals with making the website function. )

If your looking at doing a bit of both , then dreamweaver is good starting point as it caters for both sides of the fence . If your looking at website design as a career choice. Then my advice is think seriously about one or the other . Are you more arty ? or do your prefer more logical problem solving ? You will use both sides of your brain when your building a website if your planing on doing both.

But to answer your question HTML can be as easy or as hard as you make it out to be , if you like solving problems and figuring out how things work then you might enjoy learning about it , but if your easily frustrated and get despondent then it might not be for you.

It usually looks hard, but then becomes easier as you memorize and practice. I would say though that Dreamweaver is a lot easier than hand-coding HTML. But you should learn the basics of HTML/CSS so you can understand Dreamweaver easier.

you're definitely in for a ride. unless you're planning on setting up some amateur website for personal use (a family site, for example), learning just html alone will prove relatively limited in function. along with html, you will also need to learn css to keep up with today's technology. if you plan on having a website with any type of decent interactivity, you're also going to want to learn some java. otherwise, you're just going to have a page that essentially sits there and does nothing except display pictures and text.

but if you're going to use a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor like dream weaver for building a web page, you won't really need to learn a whole lot about html since such programs allow you to draw your site instead of actually code it.
