When I was growing up my dad had a German Shepard. He was a large dog and when he was young he was quite aggressive, but my dad broke him of that eventually. Every time the dog would get aggressive with my dad, my dad would pick the dog up and body slam him to the ground. My dad always told me that was the best way.
Now I have a chihuahua and he's also quite aggressive, but I cannot use my dad's methods because of the dog's physical fragility. When my dad came over one day and the dog bit his foot, my dad slapped the dog but it hurt him quite badly and he hid away for hours after that, so I don't want anyone to get physical with him like that again, I was quite angry at my dad for that. What are some non-physical ways to make my dog tame?
