How did the partition of India affect Muslims, Hindus, ans Sikhs differently?

I understand that land and property distribution would cause people to feel their share was unfair, but how did partition in India affect the Muslims, Hindu's and Sikhs differently? Did they have anything specific about partition that went against their religion, or did the Hindu's and Sikhs feel the Muslims were too powerful. The Muslims DID kill vastly larger numbers of people, correct?
