During Shakespearean times, there was the big witch hunt. I know that they used to throw suspects into a river, and if the water repelled them and made them float, they were a witch.
They also believed that witches had a point on the body that felt no pain, they would be stripped and poked with a hot poker till the point was found.

I cant find any other ways they would test for witches, the internet searches arent finding anything helpful, i would be really grateful if you could help me?

Please, no lies or stupid comments.
Thanks in advance x

the one i really hated was when your enemy could just accuse you and act possessed.

they would tie up completely and throw in pond or river, if you sank you were guilty.

the point of no pain was usually a mole and if you didn't react to needle than you were witch.

a lot of the accused were high and confessed to flying, etc.
