...them? They didn't have all these books from STRANGERS telling them how to raise their children, safety locks, electronical educational books to read to their kids, singing potties, etc and were perfectly capable of raising kids. To make matters even more interesting, MANY WERE TEENAGERS DOING IT! What ever happened to us just trusting our own judgment on the matter? Are we any less capable from the teens of yesterday?
Teens are not just either "super smart or super dumb", there is a middle ground and to be honest, it does not take a genius to raise a child. There are many adults with the iq equivalent to that of a child who has had a child and raised that child to be a productive member of society. The problem is, many parents want to extend the child's childhood long beyond what it ought to be (which is fine and dandy due to the fact life expectancy has increased greatly) but it does not mean they are any less capable of raising a child. I am perfectly confident that if need be, I could leave my 12 year old in charge of the house and it would be fine when I returned (I have even done that). I'm just saying you don't need all these gadgets and books to properly raise your child, what you need is love, patience, and time to raise children.
