How did Judaism branch into Christianity?

Was it towards the end of the old testament?
I thought Judaism is ancient Christianity.
Judaism only believes in Old testament, Christianity believes in both the old and the new, that's why I am not sure as to whether Judaism is actually ancient Christianity? Correct me if I'm wrong.
