I was at school and i went to work on a word document that I had saved on my flash drive. it was 6 months old and 8gig only about 30% used. I plunged it in the computer and opened the file from the flash drive. All was fine until I looked down and the light on my flash drive wasn't on. So I pulled it out I saw smoke literary coming out of it witch leads me to believe that there was a electrical fire. because the plastic in the computer and the flash drive were melted. I do have 28 or so witnesses. The schools computers are relatively old and my flash drive worked in all of the other computers just fine but this one destroyed it. I would like to know who is at fault my flash drive or the schools computer? and should if they are at fault should they be morally or legally required to re-embrace me? what they said is that I ether had a excess of files (only 2.4g of 8g) saved on my flash drive or somehow crossed the wires. My defense is that its a old computer that is used 7hours a day continuously by 7 kids 180 days a year for 6 years chances are the computer will develop a defect.
