how could i teach myself astronomy?

there is this high school competition in the usa, and its called science olympiad. You never know what the questions are going to be, and i haven't taken astronomy yet. so i need to teach myself astronomy, but i don't know how to do that, can anyone tell me where i can find the stuff for free on the internet?
 
get some $ and go to amazon.com and look for college text books for space and astronomy. Watch discovery/history channel, etc. Buy a good telescope.
 
I would say start with your basic sites such as Wikipedia and Youtube videos . You can learn so much just from those two sites you will at least get the basics down . Then you will have a better idea of which direction to go next .
