How concerned should I be about ABS Light on my 94 mazda navajo?

Just had new brake pads and rotors put on 2 weeks ago. This weekend 3 times, while driving less than 30 mph, had the brakes "skip" underneath me ... felt similar to braking on ice altho the pavement is very dry. ABS light wasn't on at the time, but came on after, and braking felt fine the rest of the drive.
May I drive in this condition, with extra caution / distance between cars for a few days, or do I need to have it towed and not drive it, or something in between?
added detail: fluid levels are fine. Plan to go back to mechanic, just wondering if I can drive it tonight / tomorrow. Thanks All!

Yoe obviously have a problem with the anti-lock part of your brakes. When the abs warning light is on,(in theory) it disables the ABS system, but the regular brakes should work just fine.Check the fluid level in brake master cylinder before driving again.

I would not take the risk, take it to the mechanic, but 1st check brake and clutch oil, good luck.

the abs system is a part of the braking system but not absolutely integral to the operation of them. if you just had brake work done i would hurry back and talk to the service writer about the problem. it could be related to the parts that were used or the service that was done.
