I am going to be finishing my BA in Linguistics in April of 2011 (hopefully with an 80% average, which is my percentage right now), and have applied to the UBC Okagnagon program, UVic's elementary (post-degree) program, WKTEP, and VIU.
I have chosen these universities as they rely heavily on GPA and very little volunteer experience (as that is what I have)
When I called these places just to see how competitive it is, they all said that they normally get double the applications (so very competitive!), but also told me that people drop-out cause they got in somewhere else, and then space becomes available.
Sooooo, what I'm wondering is if anyone knows how often this happens, because now I'm thinking that my GPA and experience (which is only 50 hours so far) is not good enough!
Thanks a bunch for responding or reading
