How common is it that a woman doesn't want to have sex with her husband but she wants...

...to stay married to him? We have been married for 12 years and my wife has always avoided sex. It's like a punishment to her. She doesn't like to talk about it but I finally made us go to counseling. She says that she wants to work things out... but frankly I still don't see any sign of change.

Why would she want to be married but not have any sex?
 
I am the same way. How would you like something shoved in your body constantly when you are not interested in it?
I'm just sayin.
 
That is odd...you are the man and you need to tell her that it is her duty to have sex with you.
 
because she likes the comfort of you being around but is not interested sexually. you really shouldnt take it personally though. either that or she's having an affair.
 
She is weird, so are you. How can someone be married and have no sex for 12 years?? Both of you should see a counselor and sex therapist. If you can live a sexless marriage, so be it. What do you expect the Y Answerers to say?
 
I had that problem of not wanting sex except for a couple times a month then I went off birth control and now I want it more than he does! Tell her to go to the dr. and see what can be done about it.
 
12 years is a long time. She's emotionally hooked enough that she doesn't want to give you up. Some women hate change. More sex = change. Getting a divorce = change.
