He was a British-born Dutch White man who traveled to South America, he observed the conditions of the African slaves by the White men who were treated rather cruelly. He met his Mulatto concubine Joanna and her mother "sold" her to him, he stated that in the place it was common for European gentlemen to take African/mulatto slaves as their concubines/wives. How come we never learned about that?
