Don't you feel cheated of your money, when you watch...

1. Boxers leaning on each other? (pressing their foreheads against each other).

2. mma fighters rolling around on the floor?

3. wrestlers faking knockouts? (when they're really just taking a break to catch their breath)

I stopped watching sports because of these stupid moments. especially in boxing. the referee has to constantly go "come on, break it up, break it up". 3 seconds later, they decide to hug each other again. WTF?!! And I mentioned the mma also, because it seems every fight nowadays, is on the floor? it's stupid. i want to see a clean brawl, fist to fist, or kick, or even head bud. instead, i get to watch 2 grown men, roll around in gay positions, until one guy taps out. seriously, wtf?

I think they're boring and don't watch them, but have you ever tried anything similar? Getting punched and kicked and fighting back is exhausting!

MMA fighters rolling around on the floor is part of grappling, they aren't resting they are trying to get a dominate position.

In pro-wrestling that isn't a sport to begin with, they have spots called rest holds, which usually follow high spots or fast-paced sequence of moves. During these rest holds the wrestlers will take a breather, and possibly plan out the next sequence of moves.

The boxing is just stalling for time. When a boxer knows he's up on points for the round, he'll try to avoid putting himself in a situation where he could lose the round. One of the tactics is what you described.
