How come some people deny the militant atheism that where in communist nations?

Just to clear things up, i am not saying stalin killed in the name of atheism nor is this a question about stalin but MILITANT atheism, not atheism and by militant atheism i do mean atheists who are hostile towards religion. I do not understand wen some people dismiss it and say it wasn't militant atheism it was communism, wen communism, especially Marxism–Leninism, is explicitly anti religion and atheistic, so the torture, persecutions and killings of religious people where because the people in power where not only communists, but militant atheists
lainiebsky, you can be a militant atheist even though you are a communist ''Religious people were killed if they threatened the government or power structure'' they where killed for being religious and not for being a threat to the ''power structure'', the policy of the soviet union towards religion was based on the ideology of Marxism-Leninism which i must say again, is explicitly anti religion and atheistic
''it is simply not true that religion was not allowed'' first of all wen did i say it was not allowed and second of all it was indeed banned in communist Albania, ''if you wanted to practice your religion privately in a way that didn't interfere with those in power that was fine'' that is untrue, as i must say, yet again, Marxism-Leninism is explicitly anti religion and atheistic so you would ''interfere'' with the government simply by not agreeing with them because it was a totalitarian government that followed the ideology of Marxism-Leninism ''EDIT: Yes, you can be a militant atheist and a communist at the same time. No, that does not prove that militant atheism was behind every communist act of violence'' indeed militant atheism was not behind every act of violence but it certainly played its role in the violence against religious people
