How come Reagan, Ford, Nixon and other presidents were not called only by middle name,

but Obama is? I don't remember anyone calling Ronald Reagan simply "Wilson," or his successor "Herbert Walker," or the president after him "Jefferson," or the next president as "Walker," but I hear President Obama referred to simply by his middle name a lot. Why is this? Why didn't the presidents I have just mentioned receive this "honor"?
Um, you do realize that George W. Bush had a father who was president, therefore if I said George Bush, I could be referring to either the father or the son, so to avoid confusion, many people used the letter "W", which invites two points:
1. From whom is Barack Hussein Obama being distinguished? Was his father once president of the USA?
2. Why is John Quincy Adams not simply called John Adams? Oh, yeah, there's an obvious answer for that.
3. If Bush the son was referred to as "W.", why don't you just call Obama "H"? But of course there's no need to as he doesn't share the name of any previous president.
