Im not sure which is which - vegetarian/vegan - but how come those who wont eat meat will eat fish?

Just something I have always wondered - not trying to be rude!
reignofcheese - You can ask that question if you like but this is my question thank you very much
Spiderman - Lots of people I know call themselves this but eat fish - I was just wondering what the difference between not eating a cow and not eating a fish was - are fish not as important as cows/pigs/chicken etc

they are weird or maybe they dont like beef etc and only like fish ?
some vegos eat fish and its just weird cuz its an animal 2

love to see the answers because im stumped like you lol

vegans dont eat any animal biproducts.
vegetarians eat eggs and milk and stuff like that.. some vegeatarians eat fish b/c its a good way to get protein.

My theory? They want to be associated with a group that works to reduce the suffering of animals (vegetarians) while not actually reducing the suffering of animals (by continuing to eat fish...and some will continue to eat chicken).

They justify it all kinds of ways, but the ultimate argument is that they are still eating a living, breathing creature.

the vitamins they need to keep healthy with out meat are all made from fish anyway, and these people may call themselves vegiterians but truely they're called pescatarians... they also will eat eggs and most eggs have been just fertilaized so its really no differnt than a baby chicken.
People need meat to survive so even if they dont want to, they cheat.
hope this helped

What has "vegetarian/vegan" got to do with your question? Not trying to be rude, but it's a total non-sequitur.

Vegetarians and vegans do not eat fish. Vegetarians and vegans do not eat animals of any kind (though a small percentage will eat animal crackers - if that was going to be your next question).

Pescatarians do eat fish, but pescatarians are not vegetarians by any stretch of the imagination, just another subclass of omnivore. Any pescatarian who calls himself/herself a vegetarian is either a liar or deluded or misinformed - therefore a pesky-tarian.

EDIT: Then those "lots of people" you are talking about are all pesky-tarians. I can only answer your question as a vegetarian, not as a pescatarian (because I'm obviously not one), and my answer would be that I can't understand the reasoning of a pesky-tarian or a pescatarian. There are also other omnivores called pollotarians who eat birds and sometimes wrongly claim, like the dreaded pesky-tarians, to be "vegetarians". I'm not against anyone eating whatever they want (within reason), but I am against anyone calling himself/herself a vegetarian when he/she is obviously not one.

1.some people thinks fish taste is mare delicious than meat
2.Fish sure more healthy
3.Many protein in fish
4.Meat iSN'T HEALTHY
5.Meat makes fat

Their omnivores, (although some insist they are vegetarian, which is impossible) who choose to exclude certain meats from their diet, or they are pescetarians, a sub-group of omnivore, who may choose to eat fish because they, like my friends, see fish as "swimming vegetables", it's ludacris, really, how are fish and different from any other animal or "meat", it's still flesh, and they still feel it, and it's still mass produce, still - unnecessary.

IMO.

That's why they don't, but sometimes its because they happen to fall into that category because they only like the taste of fish flesh.

I don't eat meat.
Which means I don't eat fish. Fish is a meat not a vegetable.

People who do are not vegetarian or vegan just call themselves it. Same as I can call myself an astronaut if I feel like it.

people who eat animals qulify for neither lable you provided. However, those who only eat fish, I would guess, is they wish not to have the cardiovascular problems associated with other meats.

that is a pescetarian, a type of omnivore

I have heard about a few pescetarians calling themselves vegetarians, when they are not, these days you should be careful what you eat from the sea, as mercury levels rise
mercury is a very toxic metal, dont quote me on the mercury levels though, i dont care myself because i do not eat fish

I am a vegetarian, and i would appreciate it if people who ate fish stopped calling them selves vegetarians, like that other guy said, they are not swimming vegetables

when i was pescitarian, to be blunt, i did it because i dont feel as sorry for fish as i do for animals. fish arent very human-like to me, i almost consider them a bug, although i dont kill bugs or fish.

The question should be "how come SOME people who don't eat meat will eat fish?

The answer is - they call themselves vegetarians, but are not. They are simply people who do not eat the meat of most animals. (pescitarian is not a real word, check yourself) They might be mistaken about what vegetarianism is, or perhaps just like the sound of the word anyway.

Some people choose to eat fish and not other meat for health reasons - fish is extremely healthy and contains little to no fat. Others can't bear the thought of eating a warm blooded creature, but don't consider fishes life to be of the same value.

I don't like meat, and I feel that it's healthier to eat a diet that is low in meat.

I tried going vegetarian 20 years ago and ended up feeling extremely run down so I compromised and went demi-vegetarian.

There are lots of reasons that people give up meat from health, dislike of meat to religious or ethical reasons or even to save money.
