How come in tv shows there always seems to have 2 girl best friends and a guy...

...best friend? I know that was confusing... examples:
Hannah Montana: Miley, Lily & Oliver
Icarly: Carly, Sam & Freddie
That's So Raven: Raven, Chelsea & Eddie
True Jackson VP: True, Lulu & Ryan
I was just curious, does anyone know why there are two girls and one guy best friends in all four of these shows?
