How come in the majority of Anime all they do is Bodyweight exercises instead of lift?

Hey People it doesn't hurt to answer and besides you get points so go on and a shot at the best answer lol so go on :D
Anyways you ever notice how in Anime the Main Characters Never Really lift weights and all they do is push ups and sit ups and other crazy stuff and they become ridiculously strong doing like over 9000 push ups for training. I was just wondering because in nearly every single anime they always are doing insane amounts of push ups on one hand or hand standing or on their thumbs and finger.
Examples
DBZ: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and the rest of the Z fighters
Naruto: Rock Lee and Gai
Yu Yu Hakusho: Yusuke and I know there are others Im just blanking right now
One Piece: Zoro (I know people I'll get to that in a second)
Baki the Grappler: Baki Most of the Fighters (and him too)
ETC.
Oh and I know Zoro and Baki lift weights but they also do crazy amounts of Body weight training is there a reason they specifically do that. I mean I know they get stronger from it but wouldn't they be stronger if they used weights. Just Imagine Goku benching in the gravity chamber wouldn't that have gotten him stronger? I don't know I'm just asking so I'd love hear what people have to say thank you. Oh and I am not dissing Bodyweight at all. I know Goku and all the others are stronger than the weights they're lifting but just wondering why they don't do any stuff like that. Like i said before the best answer gets the great points and you get points anyways for askin so come on :D
