how change my group "author" name..?

how do I change my "author" name (name that appears when I post a group message)..?? It shows up as my email address... if I try to change it in my group profile, the only option in the drop-down box is my email address; which I cannot change. I want my author name shown as my first & last name; as it does in my profile... but I have no option to display my name as the author..??
