How can you unpassword protect a U3 flash drive from a Mac?

I'm trying to install Ubuntu on the flash drive but every time I get to a certain command it asks me what the password is. I never put a password on the flash drive in the first place. If anyone's wondering the command that won't work is sudo dd if=/path/to/downloaded.img of=/dev/rdiskN bs=1m (replace /path/to/downloaded.img
PLEASE HELP
