How can you tell apple iphone from fake chinese iphone?

my friend just bought fake chinese iphone 3G for $150, it just looks like an Iphone, and it has the apple logo and everything, but close inspection, you could tell it's a clone, because, it doesn't have the apple softwares and it's made off cheap plastic and stuff.
so what do you do?
 
i think you answered your own question...you asked how can you tell the difference..then you said its made of cheap plastic and doesn't have the apple software...
 
I agree Buyer beware. Nothing can be done. When you try to be cheap you get cheated.

The iPhone 3G[S} is $199 and the regular 3G is $99 (w/contract) so your friend isn't very smart.
