I have special occasion, sort of like a family reunion, and everyone who is going is bringing something homemade. Since it is going to be in June, most likely it will be hot. So, I thought that ice cream would make a great refreshing desert. I want to make chocolate and strawberry, but I don't want to spend so much money on tools just to make ice cream. Anyone have a simpler solution?

1 cup milk
30 marshmallows
3/4 cup sugar
3 cups bananas, sliced(about 4)
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
3 1/2 cups heavy cream
Directions
1In an electric blender, combine milk, marshmallows, sugar, sliced bananas and lemon juice. Blend on high speed.
2Whip heavy cream and then stir cream into blended banana mixture. Still-freeze.

1 box instant vanilla pudding
2 cans evaporated milk
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 gallon milk
1 pinch salt
Directions
1Mix together and put in ice cream freezer until done to desirable thickness.
2*Fun for the kids: Blend all ingredients in blender.
3Divide mixture among Ziploc sandwich baggies.
4Seal the baggies; then place them into gallon size baggies.
5Pour dry ice into the gallon baggies making sure to completely surround the smaller baggies.
6Seal the gallon baggies.
7Then let the children squeeze and punch on the baggies continuously.
8You'll have to fill up the dry ice a few times before getting it to desired consistency, but you do that in an ice cream freezer anyway.
9Besides this is an excellent learning tool for chemistry and it's fun for the kids, too!

1 graham cracker pie crust
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
1(8ounce)packet frozen whipped topping
8 ounces Whoppers candy
whipped topping
Directions
1Combine softened ice cream and whipped topping until well blended.
2Reserve 8 whole Whoppers for garnish, crush remaining Whoppers into smaller pieces.
3Add 1 cup crushed candy to the ice cream mixture; reserve remaining 1/2 cup of crushed candy.
4Spoon ice cream mixture into pie crust.
5Top with reserved crushed candy and freeze 4 hours.
6To serve, garnish with whipped topping and 8 whole Whoppers.

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
1/2 gallon pineapple sherbet, softened
1(12ounce)package frozen strawberries, thawed
3 medium ripe bananas, sliced into rounds
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional
Directions
1Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
2Refreeze in a gallon container.
3Or freeze in individual paper-lined muffin cups.
4Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.

You can get a cheap icecream maker at Wal-Mart or Target ($30). All you need is ice, rock salt, milk, condensed milk and flavoring. Shouldn't cost that much for ingredients. Good luck.
