How can you boost his level of interest?

I like him, and I know he likes me a little bit. But how can I boost his interest level to where he bucks up and asks me out? It's really annoying when I know, he knows that we like each-other but he doesn't do anything about it. I would ask him out myself but that'd seem desperate. So, HELP!
