How can we stop the rising prices of oil? How can we teach the oil companies a lesson?

Provide tips and suggestions for all of America to bring down our consumption and dependancy on OIL.
My suggestion: Give your automobile 1 day of no-drive / rest per week policy to bring down consumption and reduce demand for oil all across the United States.
