...the person filing against? About 2yrs ago my husband and i separated. During the months of separation he was sleeping around with someone else. Since we got back together this person has been trying to get ahold of us. shes called his job, and his friends, shes made false accusations of being pregnant with his child, and we are tired of it. my husband has filed a report for harrassment, but we'd like to file for a restraining order because we think this person needs help, and we dont know what shes capable of. we have 2 girls and we are scared that she might do something to harm them or us. the only problem is that we dnt want to face this person in court we dont want any contact with this person at all. so is there any possible way this can be done??

You won't have to face the person but you do have to go to court to have the order approved by a judge. If you have a lawyer he/she can do most of the work. But in most cases you'll only have to go to court once. However remember that most restraining orders are only valid for a specified amount of time after that you have to go back to file an extension to the original order. But once the order have been signed and dated by the judge if she bothers you again call your sheriff or police.
