I read that in China, kids go to high school on Saturdays and classes last from 9AM to 8-9PM.
They get to pick either to go into arts and humanities or science and math and would have the same teacher.
It's very competitive to get into college and the college entrance exam determines your future.
Sounds extreme and I would not want a system like that here. But I know it can be done as I went to medical school here in the States and went to school, and studied 12-14 hours a day.
But I think eventually in 25-50 years we are going to be left behind.
What can we do to better educate our kids here to compete with the Chinese, South Koreans, Taiwanese, and the Japanese who value education so much?
