how can u protect flowers on a bike?

Are these cut roses? How about a backpack? To avoid carrying glass that would shatter in an accident, could put them in a soda pop bottle with the top cut off to make a bigger opening, set it in a backpack with flowers sticking out of the top, and zip each side of the backpack up to the vase to help keep it in place. one of my friends is coming ova on a bike and he is wanting to bring some roses but he doesnt want them to brake...so how can he come on his bike and also have the roses.
 
He could put them in a plastic bag (maybe double it together or something since they have thorns) and then put the plastic bag on the handle. I've seen someone do that while I was driving on the road. They had so much groceries, too!
