My car is about a gas tank away from dying on me, so I was thinking about putting together a little money to get a new/used one until I can afford a nicer one. I came across ford taurus listings on craigslist and cars.com and see some 2002-2006's for dirt cheap with pretty low miles. I could literally shell out only $5,000 and get a 06 taurus with low miles. Wow. And just when I almost dismissed these cars as "must be crap since they're cheap", I read glowing reviews from people talking about how reliable they are and such great cars. So, what's the deal? Would this be a good car for someone that needed one for 3-4 years until I can get a nicer one? Think if I shell out $5,000 for one with say, 110,000 miles, it'll get me places for the next few years without much trouble?
