Hi,
so I got home today and my mum was watching the god channel. there was this american preacher on and he was telling a story about a young guy who...
-had no tongue
-was blind
-was suffering from '26 major diseases' (??)
-had toes but no feet (???????????)
-his limbs were wrapped up like 'pretzels'

etc etc

his mum drove down to this other guy, prayed and gave some money, then i stopped listening and by the end of it
-his vision was restored and he had big brown eyes
-he got his tongue back
-he grew feet
-he recovered from his illnesses
-his limbs all straightened out (apparently you could hear them cracking as they popped back into place)

my question is, how do religious manage to believe and buy into such ridiculous stories? the whole thing defies science and medicine in so many ways that the only conclusion i can reach is that it's a poorly thought out lie from a religious nut (sorry, i hate to use that term but i felt it was appropriate for this case)

So how?

(i'm agnostic by the way)
no, i'm not exaggerating. this was the actual story that he told. he was like a priest or something as well
