How can the military give meaning to my life?

I'm in college at the moment studying Mathematics, Mathematical Physics and English. I want to try and contribute something, do something important for the country and the world.

I was thinking about joining some section of the military but not sure where my skills can be of best use. Thanks for any answers.
 
I agree with Rawbert. The military can provide you with the tools to make something out of your life, but ultimately it is up to you.
 
Have you tried looking around at Military.com yet? How about having a recruiter over to your home for a cup of Coffee? Each Service has a different role to contribute to our defense.If I had a Physics background I might consider Air Force or Navy.The Nuclear Power program the Navy offers is extensive and would look great on your resume when you retire.(If you enlisted this year you could retire in 2029)Imagine at38 to 40 yrs old already retired collecting a full pension with Medical benefits! Hats off to you for what your considering,America could use talent like yours.Good luck!
