How can one put text on manual drawings without applying copy and paste?

my cousin is doing a course in interior design and he does a lot of manual drawings.
He prints out the text the cut and paste but when he photocopies the drawings the text doesnt come out nicely there will be lines.....
Does anyone out there know of a technique that can be used .
I know that using the computer is a good solution but not for manual drawings.Using a stencil sometimes does not work either because some of the text has to be very small ........can anyone out there please advice
