How can it be ok to be terminated for not signing a write up in work?

I was terminated a few days ago for not signing a form that stated a client came back because her hair was cut less than an inch shorter than she wanted. I have gone months and months without having a client come back (I am a hairdresser) and my manager wanted me to sign a form that wasnt even a legal document . I refused to sign and she fired me.Other stylist would have peolpe come back and complain and they never got in trouble for it. How can we get better laws to protect us at our jobs . My job I was at for 2 years was taken away from me for no good reason. Its just not fair.
 
Why not sign it, it is not a legal document. Most write ups have a place for you to explain your side and the write up signature only means you acknowledged that in your bosses opinion you did something wrong. By failing to sign you most likely broke company policy.
